The CHS Swim & Dive team finished in sixth place at the 2013 WIAA Division I Girls Swim & Dive Meet. Katie Drabot won both the 200 Yard Freestyle & the 200 Yard IM and set new WIAA state records in both events.
The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay Team of Katie Drabot, Kathryn Mohr, Skylar Fore & Sydney Hallmark finished 5th place and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay Team of Katie Drabot, Kathryn Mohr, Skylar Fore & Sydney Hallmark finished in 3rd place.
Skylar Fore took 7th place in the 100 Yard Freestyle and Diver Kelsie Hall finished in 8th place overall.
The Cedarburg Bulldogs, who were attempting to win their first state title in boy’s soccer since 1996, lost to Oregon High School, 4-3, in a penalty-kick shootout after playing 100 minutes of scoreless soccer. The match goes as down as a tie, but Oregon (16-3-3) won the championship based on the outcome of the penalty kicks.
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 15-4-3 overall record and a state runner-up trophy. Congratulations on a great year. Please read related articles below.
Three members of the CHS Cross Country Team competed at the WIAA Division 1 Cross Country Meet which was held at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, November 2nd. The Division 1 field included 190 boys and 189 girls.
In the boys competition Cedarburg sophomore Jack O'Neil placed 20th overall and finished with a time of 16:23.60.
In the girls competition, Cedarburg junior Sidni Frank finished 73rd overall with a time of 15:44.94 and freshman Raine Tenpenny finished 111th with a time of 16:05.64. Congratulations to all three athletes for a successful season.
The Cedarburg High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Erin Mann has been hired as the new Head Softball Coach for the Bulldogs. Coach Mann has an extensive softball background at the high school and collegiate level.
She attended Lockport Township High School (Lockport, IL), was a four year letter winner, earning All-state / All-area selections, and a 2004 Illinois State Championship.
Following high school she moved on to become a four-year starter for the Northwestern University Softball team and won two Big Ten Championships and participated in the 2006 & 2007 Women’s College World Series. Coach Mann also teaches Physical Education and Health at CHS.
Katie Drabot had an outstanding Junior National Campionships. She was able to medal in 4 out of seven races, winning bronze in the 200 m free and 200 m Breaststroke. She achieved times that currently rank her in the top 100 in the world.
Along with her outstanding accomplishments at the meet, she was select to represent the USA at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Dubai, UAE. She will leave August 22 and return to the US September 2.
Earlier in the week she swam in the US Open, which included national teams from around the world, where she placed 7th in the 200 m IM.
