Cedarburg High School Junior Katie Drabot traveled to Hawaii this past week to compete for the United States in the Junior Pan Pacific Championships.
The Americans dominated the meet winning gold in 7 of 8 events on Wednesday on the meet’s first day, and 15 of 16 possible medals.
Katie started the meet for the USA by taking the women’s 200 freestyle in a time of 1:58.73 that puts her 10th in the 18 and under world rankings. Drabot, who was the top seed coming into the competition, posted a lifetime best beating her previous time of 1:59.32.
On Saturday, June 7, 2014 Cedarburg High School hosted a ceremony naming the varsity baseball facility "Jack Friess Field", in honor of longtime CHS baseball coach Jack Friess. The 2014 season marks his 36th season leading the Bulldog varsity team.
A 1967 graduate of Cedarburg High School, Friess also taught at Webster Transitional School for 34 years. His teams have won 3 conference titles, appeared in 6 WIAA summer state tournaments and were state runners-up in 1997 and 1998. His 514 wins heading into the 2014 season place him fifth all-time among WIAA summer baseball coaches.
Coach Friess’s name is displayed on the press box and a new scoreboard has been installed displaying “Jack Friess Field." The field is located on the Cedarburg High School campus (W68N611 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg, WI).

6:00 to 6:30 PM - View Individual Sport Exhibits and Meet Coaches for ALL CHS Programs (held in field house)
6:30 to 6:45 PM - General Athletic Director Meeting (Items covered will be the sign-up, clearance process and a variety of important policies related to athletic participation at Cedarburg High School (held in field house)
6:45 to 7:15 PM - Individual Fall Sports Meetings as indicated below (students not playing a fall sport may leave at this time):
Cheer -- Fieldhouse (South), Cross Country (Coed) -- Vintage Gym (South), Football -- Fieldhouse, Golf (Girls') -- Vintage Gym (North), Dance – Fieldhouse (North), Soccer (Boys’) -- LGI, Swim (Girls') -- Cafeteria, Tennis (Girls') – Commons, Volleyball (Girls')
*Boys Volleyball has been added as a sport at CHS for the Fall of 2014. Students will be able to sign-up but an individual meeting WILL NOT be hold for this sport on Wednesday, May 28 since a head coach has not been hired. When a coach is hired you will be contacted based on the information that provide when filling the sign-up sheet on May 28.
In lieu of a general Fall Sports Meeting for current students, the high school coaches will hold individual sign-up meetings prior to the end of the school year.
