The CHS Girls Basketball Team will be playing Beaver Dam in a WIAA Sectional Semi-final game at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Fond du Lac High School.
Admission: Doors will open at 6:00pm. All spectators should enter door 14 (Athletic Entrance on the West side of the building).
Tickets: Tickets are $5 for adults/students and $1 for children 6 and under. CHS will not be selling tickets in advance. The facility seats 2600 and we have been assured that plenty of seating will be available.
Seating: Beaver Dam fans will be on south side of field house. Cedarburg fans will be on north side of field house. Parents/adults behind player bench and students across from player bench.
Student Fan Bus: A student fan bus is being offered for the game. The cost is $12.00 per student which includes a game ticket ($5.00) and bus ride ($7.00). Students may pick-up a parent permission slip in the CHS Athletic Office. A complete form and payment must be turned into the CHS Athletic Office by 8:00 AM Thursday in order to ride on the bus. If there is not enough interest in a fan bus, students will be notified via the morning announcements on Thursday and the fee will be refunded.
On Saturday, March 1st the Cedarburg/Grafton Gymnastics team traveled to Manitowoc Lincoln High School to compete in the WIAA Sectional Meet. The team performed extremely well finishing 3rd with a 132.40, narrowly missing a trip to team state. (Top 2 teams advance). Catie Ball and Maddie Gleed had an outstanding day qualifying as individuals in multiple events
Catie qualified in four events placing 3rd on vault with a 9.0, 2nd on bars, with an 8.85, 5th on floor with a 9.10 and 5th on all-around with a 35.55. Maddie had one of her best meets of the season and qualified in three events placing 3rd on beam with an 8.90, 4th on vault with an 8.975 and 4th on floor with a 9.15. Both girls are going to do an amazing job at state this weekend and they have worked so hard this season to get to where they are now.
The 44th WIAA State Gymnastics Championships will take place Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.
Nick Plachinski won an individual state championship in the 200 freestyle and took second in the 500 freestyle at the WIAA Division Swim Championship on Saturday February, 22 in Madison.
Cedarburg was sixth in both the 200 freestyle relay (Logan Coert, Ben Allbee, Tony Douglass, Nick Plachinski), 1:27.68 and 400 freestyle relay (Logan Coert, Matthew Parker, Tony Douglass, Nick Plachinski), 3:12.26
Logan Coert finished ninth in the 50 free (21.91 seconds) and 11th in the 100 free (48.00). Sophomore Jared Nickodem was 13th in the 200 individual medley (1:59.62), Tony Douglass was 15th in the 200 free (1:46.74) and 14th in the 100 freestyle (48.75)
