Edward J. Frank - Athlete (Class of 1950)

Ed Frank was a member of the baseball, basketball, and football teams at Cedarburg High School, earning varsity letters in each sport his junior and senior years.  He was the second leading scorer on the 1949-50 4-C Conference championship basketball team.  He was also a member of the 1948 and 1949   4-C Conference championship football teams.

Ed was student council president for two years, prom king, chorus member for four years, and participated in the movie operators’ club for three years, as well as one act plays.  He was also an honor student his senior year.

Ed was the first Cedarburg High School football player to play on an NCAA Division 1 football team.  He earned three varsity letters at Marquette University playing defensive end, offensive and defensive tackle.  He also served as the co-captain of the 1953 team, receiving honorable mention recognition on three All-American teams at the end of the season.

In 1954 Ed was signed by the Green Bay Packers but was later released.
