Lisa Krzykowski - Athlete (Class Of 1994)

Lisa was a two-sport standout at Cedarburg High School, starring in both basketball and soccer.  She finished her basketball career in the top three of seven statistical categories, including school records for steals in a game, season, and career, as well as assists in a game.

In 1994, Lisa earned First Team All-State and First Team All-American honors after leading the girls’ soccer team to the WIAA state tournament for the first time and a state runner-up finish.

Krzykowski played soccer at the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee, where she was twice named the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-MCC four times.  She was also named to the MCC All-Tournament team three times.  She became the first women’s soccer player ever inducted into the UWM Hall of Fame and to have her number retired.  Krzykowski finished as the school’s career leader in goals, assists (tied) and points.

She graduated magna cum laude from UWM and was a Second Team Academic All-American in 1997 before winning the league’s prestigious Coleman Award in 1998.  Upon leaving UWM, Krzykowski became the first woman from the state of Wisconsin to play professional soccer, competing for both the Atlanta Beat and San Diego Spirit of the Women’s United Soccer Association.
