DAVID E. BOYLES, ROBERT H. GUSE, DR. RICHARD SEYMOUR, EDWARD J. DOWNEY - Distinguished Service

These four individuals were instrumental in the formation of the Cedarburg Athletic Booster Club which was established in 1983 with Dick Seymour serving as the first president.

The first major CABC project was the acquisition of lights for the football field in an effort that became known as “Project Candle Power”

The CABC developed a plan to raise the $92,000 needed to fund the project by securing pledges from area businesses and residents.  The Cedarburg Fire Department provided the impetus for the venture by donating $15,000 and Cedarburg Light and Water supplied the labor to install the lights at no charge.

In order to complete the funding for the project Guse, Downey, Seymour, and Boyles put second mortgages on their homes in the amount of $50,000 each. “Project Candle Power” became a reality on August 29, 1986 as the football field lights were dedicated and used for the first time at a Bulldog football game.
