Shane Schmidt

In his soccer career, Shane Schmidt has represented Cedarburg High School, the University of Evansville, and the United States.  In 1990, Shane, as Captain, led his team to a WIAA State Championship. Individual honors in high school include the following: All-County 1987, 1988 and 1989, All-County Player of the Year in 1989, and All-American in 1989. 

Shane's success continued at the University of Evansville where he was Conference Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American in 1990, the same year Shane's team played in the Final Four. Other University honors include being named All-Conference in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993, and All-Midwest Region in 1991, 1992, and 1993. 

Shane also represented the US by being named to the U-20 National Team and the U-23 National Pool. Shane attended the US Olympic Festival in 1990 and 1991, winning the gold medal in 1991.

Professionally, Shane played for the Lexington Bluegrass Bandits in 1994 before moving on to the Milwaukee Wave for the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons. Shane then played for the Indiana Blast in 1997 and 1998. 

Currently Shane teaches at Carmel High School in Carmel , Indiana, where he has been the Head Boys Varsity Coach since 2007 of Nationally ranked Carmel High School.
